Process

Introduction
We first like to meet with the client or clients to understand the needs, hopes and desires for the project, to visually have a sense for the various spaces, and an understanding of the scope of work. At this meeting we listen and often begin to offer ideas and get initial feedback.
Based on this first meeting we can put together a proposal outlining the plans required and an estimate for the design budget. Portfolio pictures and field trips to completed projects are also available.
Design Process
The first step in the design process is to gather existing site information including plans, topos, and site survey work. Once this information is assembled and put into cad we have a base to work from.
Conceptual design is often drawn on trace and overlaid with color for easy readability and to assist the visioning process . One, two, or more options may be provided depending on the site and particular variables. Our first design meeting is an exploration and conversation in which possibilities are explored and new ideas can come forth. Through this process we begin to synthesize selected options and create a completed conceptual plan.
The design process continues to be one of refinement and provides increasing clarity as we proceed to other aspects of design including: grading and drainage, planting, irrigation, lighting, details, etc.
Construction
Details for construction are not included in the original design cost estimate since the design process determines what details are required. Once the conceptual design is completed an estimate for details can be provided. Prep work and meetings for city submissions are billed hourly as the requirements vary from city to city.
When designing for municipalities and foundations we review progress through a series of public hearings or group meetings listening, unifying the design and moving the project forward to completion. During the design process we often estimate project costs and locate specialty supplies and contractors required for construction.
Our firm is a design/build company and we love to complete projects from start to finish. We offer project management as well as all construction staff and specialty contractors necessary for the construction of pools.
